  • In 2021, the Earth Law Center joined a team of visionaries who co-engineered the creation of a board seat for Nature in a company. In 2022, Nature became a Director on the board of Faith of Nature, a British eco-beauty business.

    Since then, many more decision-making bodies (companies, charities, foundations, and others) are seeking to appoint a human proxy to represent the voice of Nature on their boards.

    Now to support this incredible evolution, ELC launches the Dandelion Fellowship to kickstart the Nature Governance co-learning journey of 100 more Nature Proxies, to serve on boards of corporate companies, as well as public and private organizations.

    Over four years, four cohorts of 25 Fellows from around the world will participate in a co-development programme to cultivate the practice of Nature Governance.

    Through the program, the Dandelion Fellows will co-create the substantive curriculum and resources of Nature Proxies that will promote, foster and facilitate the voice, vote and way of Nature within decision-making bodies.

  • Nature Governance adheres to a holistic ecocentric worldview, and is committed to an ecozoic philosophy, framework and practice within human systems.

    As a philosophy, Nature Governance brings Nature consciousness into human systems of governance, as a strategy for eco-logical choices, eco-conscious decision-making, and an eco-responsible culture of human stewardship and accountability for the benefit of planetary health and the common good.

    ESG targets, sustainability, net zero objectives, etc. are quantitative action points that tell us what we need to stop - and what we need to start - doing. Yet, do we do what needs to be done? No. At least, not in a systemic, meaningful and impactful enough manner.

    Nature Governance offers a qualitative consciousness altering systemic change - a deep cultural transformation - that enables human beings within any decision-making body to boldly, unapologetically and wisely make the right choices for planetary w-ealth, i.e. wellbeing and health. Nature Governance aims to harmonize human behavior to create, design, support and feed the systems that relate to the Natural world as a whole.

    As a framework and practice, Nature Governance cultivates the voice, the vote and the way of Nature in governance systems, through four main circles of interventions: Nature on boards; Nature in professional practice; Nature in project development; Nature in cultural evolution.

    Through the Dandelion Fellowship, the Earth Law Center will curate a co-development space for Nature proxies to gain, share and co-create Nature Governance KIEUW - Knowledge, Insights, Experience, Understandings, and Wisdom.

  • Nature proxies embody the voice, represent the vote and cultivate the way of Nature on boards where decisions, strategising and policy-making occurs.

    Nature proxies are Stewards of Nature Governance and Guardians of the interests of Nature. Like dandelions, proxies are seeds of change and transformation, growing through cracks to cultivate and lead in the ways of Nature, for the restoration of harmony and balance in our world.

    Nature proxies are human beings who…

    • Have a sense of self as Nature within the circle of interdependent, interrelated and interconnected life on Earth;

    • Feel a strong desire to be in service to the Natural world and the Nature of being human on this planet;

    • Embody qualities of compassion, empathy, humility, respect for all life, and kindness;

    • Demonstrate self-awareness, reflective abilities, emotional and spiritual intelligence, open-mindedness;

    • Demonstrate relational qualities, including relating, reciprocity, understanding, conciliation, harmonization.

    As Dandelion Fellows, Nature proxies are:

    • Emotionally, psychologically and intellectually available to dedicate time, space and energy for the co-development of the Dandelion fellowship program;

    • Committed to evolving as the fellowship evolves;

    • Understanding of being both co-learners and co-teachers on this journey;

    • Keen to interact and connect with the self, each other, and wider intersectional communities;

    • Willing to step into a leadership role embodying Nature in corporate, organizational and government spaces, as well as in broader life settings, to support the movement towards a paradigm of harmony with Nature.

  • The Dandelion Fellowship kickstarts the co-learning journey of 100 Nature Proxies to serve on boards of corporate companies, as well as private and public organizations (including NGOs, government departments).

    Once applications have been finalised, the program will launch in December 2023 at the next climate change conference, COP28. The programme will then begin in January 2024.

    The Dandelion Fellowship is a co-development programme based on collaborative, cooperative and collective intelligence, for the growth and evolution of Nature Proxies, and supports the intake of four cohorts of 25 Fellows over four years. The Dandelion Fellows will co-create the substantive curriculum content and resources of Nature Proxies (including, knowledge, wisdom, toolbox and practice).

    The Dandelion Fellowship contributes to the emergence of a community of practice in Nature Governance; co-trained and certified to partner with companies to promote, foster and facilitate the voice, vote and way of Nature within their organizations.

    Further details about the Dandelion Fellowship curated structure, team and mode of delivery will be made available to the shortlisted applicants.
